TitleLetter from Sir Lawrence Dundas (Rotterdam) to his wife (George St, Hanover Square)
Description'I wrote, my dear life, by last packet. I have now nothing to add but that I set out for the army tomorrow. Mr Craufurd goes with me two days journey. I hope to get to Cassell about this day seenight. I can't be certain if I will write you before my arrivall there for letter wrote on the road are very uncertain so don't be surprized at not hearing for some days from me.
I hope you will give orders about every thing concerning your house in Hill Street befor you go to Scotland and about the plate as I agreed upon befor I left London. I would wish to have this ready befor I come home. Remember to give directions about receiving the pair of branches I ordered from Briscoe. I gave Mrs Craufurd the section of the room she is to write about the tapestry and to order a Turkey carpet that will cover the whole room.
I shall be very happy to hear from you as often as you can find time to write me; and pray when you get to Kerse let me know everything about the Kerse and what you do about the house. I would wish to have the dining room lined with timber in place of paper for I think a room for eating should be wainscoted in place of paper. Order John Moir to provide the dealls and after cleaning them to lay them up all winter.
Adieu my dear life.
