TitleLetter from Sir Lawrence Dundas (Rotterdam) to his wife (George Street, Hanover Square)
Description'I wrote my dear Pegie from Harwich last Wednesday. I left that place the same evening about six o'clock and landed the next day about noon at Helvotsluss. A fine passage, only that it blew a little hard. I came here yesterday and I propose to stay a few days with my friends Mr and Mrs Craufurd who I find both well, and by the letters from the army lately every thing was I could wish so that I need not hurry myself.
I beg dear Peggie to write me as often as you can, and let me know how you are. I entreat you to divert yourself as much as possible. Pray write a card or order Jenkins to do it with your best compliments to Mr and Mrs West and inform them of the time you leave London that they may go to Charlton when they please.
My horse were waiting at Harwich and came over with us. We had a convoy of a sloop that was on that station.
My compliments to all my friends. I am, my dearest dear,
Your Lawr. Dundas'
