TitleLetter from Sir Lawrence Dundas (Harwich) to his wife (George Street, Hanover Square)
Description'My dearest life,
I arrived here about an hour ago very well. The packet boat sails this evening as the wind is very fair. Had I come last Friday I must have waited for the packet boat that ought to sailed that is still here, so that two sails this night and a convoy. I hope soon to write you from Rotterdam. In the mean time I beg my dearest life will endeavour to amuse and divert yourself as much as you possibly can for I assure you that nothing can give me so much pleasure as to hear of your being well and in good spirits. I shall not faill to write Thomie in a manner that I hope he will give some attention to what I recommend.
Farewell my dear life. I am yours.
