DescriptionThe violence of the trades is not to be described.... have published a Solemn League and Covenant. Three opposed it in Goldsmiths Company and prevented that company taking any step of approbation. We have some chance, it is but a poor one of making the bakers, dyers and bonnet makers. I have a number of our friends amongst the trades and some of the council to dine with me today..... lt is not I ike last year when you was· at home to receive everybody and I ran about. I am now obliged to play both these parts and to drink both at home and abroad.
