DescriptionThis sub-fonds contains records of the Court in Session. It consists of notebooks and rough minutes, including:

Clerk of the Peace's rough minutes and orders, which include notes on proceedings of the court taken during Sessions, and forming the basis for the fair copies of the minutes and orders. The volumes covering the years 1703-1732 contain mostly orders, and a volume covering the years 1764-1768 contains mostly minutes. In 1773, or possibly earlier (as there is one paper booklet for 1771 extant) a new series starts with one or more paper booklets for each Session, containing both minutes and orders [1703-1915]

Chairman's notebooks, which contain rough notes taken by the Chairman of Quarter Sessions about cases before the court [1824-1967]

Chairman's minute books, which contain a list of cases for trial, with notes on the process [c.1840-1864]
