TitleMemorial for the re-commencement of regular cattle fairs at Hawes
DescriptionMemorial to the magistrates assembled in Quarter Sessions from stock keepers and occupiers of land in Hawes. The fair for the sale of cattle, usually held on alternate Tuesdays from early January to midsummer, has been discontinued over the last year because of cattle plague. As the plague seems to be over, and no outbreaks have occurred within 20 miles of the district, they ask that the fairs might re-commence at the beginning of the year. Signed by 138 men
