DescriptionBill of expenses of Christopher Smith for conveying vagrants since the Midsummer Sessions 1790

With orders dated between 10 June 1790 and ?3 May 1791 for the conveyance of vagrants mainly from Eryholme to Boroughbridge, and all annotated with costs. Includes:

- William Henderson, on his way to his place of settlement in the parish of Whitechapel in Middlesex with a pass from one of the Justices for county Durham, having been apprehended in the township of Framwellgate

- Judith Brownfoot and two children, on their way to their place of settlement in Long Emswell [?Elmsall] in the West Riding with a pass, having been apprehended in Newcastle upon Tyne

- Margaret King and two daughters, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of Shelton in Huntingdonshire with a pass, having been apprehended in the borough of Framwellgate near the city of Durham

- Elizabeth Jakes and a child, on their way to their place of settlement in the city of Norwich in Norfolk with a pass, having been apprehended in the parish of St Oswald in the city of Durham

- Elizabeth Robson with her two sisters Catherine and Jane, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of Aldgate in the City of London with a pass, having been apprehended in township of Framwellgate near the city of Durham

- Jane Robinson and her son, on their way to their place of settlement in Southampton in Hampshire with a pass, having been apprehended in the town and county of Newcastle upon Tyne

- Mary Holliss and two children, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of Bury in Lancashire with a pass, having been apprehended in the city of Durham

- Charlotte Cooper and two children, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of Sheffield in the West Riding with a pass, having been apprehended in Framwellgate near the city of Durham

- Thomas Hand and his wife Sarah, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of St Martin in the city of Salisbury in Wiltshire with a pass, having been apprehended in the City of Durham

- James Hughes and his wife and son, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of St Dunstan in the City of London with a pass, having been apprehended in the town and county of Newcastle upon Tyne

- Ann Grace widow of John Mister or Mashiter, on her way to her place of settlement in the township of Overton in the parish of Lancaster in Lancashire with a pass, having been apprehended in the town and county of Newcastle upon Tyne

- Sarah Adnit and two children, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of Bishopgate Within in the City of London with a pass, having been apprehended in the township of Framwellgate near the city of Durham

- Elizabeth Bruce, on her way to her place of settlement in the parish of St Mary in the town of Sheffield in the West Riding with a pass, having been apprehended in the parish of St Oswald in the city of Durham

- Sarah Markham and two children, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of St Bartholomew in the City of London with a pass, having been apprehended in the city of Durham

- William Ouston with his wife and four children, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of Ousfield in Staffordshire with a pass, having been apprehended in the township of Framwellgate near the city of Durham

- Elizabeth Mackinley widow, to be conveyed from Northallerton to Boroughbridge on her way to her place of settlement in Liverpool in Lancashire, with a pass dated 28 December 1790 from one of the Justices for county Durham

- Thomas Gowen, on his way to his place of settlement at Plymouth in Devon with a pass, having been apprehended in the open court at Durham

- Sarah Hendrie and two children, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of Upton upon Severn in Worcestershire with a pass, having been apprehended in Newcastle upon Tyne

- Mary Tollson, on her way to her place of settlement in the parish of St Michael in the city of Westminster with a pass, having been apprehended in the parish of St Oswald in the city of Durham

- Thomas Rushton and three children, on their way to their place of settlement in the town of Stafford in Staffordshire with a pass from one of the Justices for Northumberland, having been apprehended in the parish of Wooler

- John Thomas and his wife and two children, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of Potley in Gloucestershire with a pass, having been apprehended in the town of Sunderland and committed to the House of Correction at Durham

- James Innes, a lunatic vagrant, on his way to his place of settlement in Leeds in the West Riding, there to be taken care of as the law directs, with a pass from one of the Justices for Northumberland

- Mary Nissbet and one child, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of St George, Hanover Square in Middlesex with a pass, having been apprehended in the borough of Berwick upon Tweed

- Thomas Jackson, his wife and two sons, on their way to their place of settlement in the parish of St James in Middlesex with a pass, having been apprehended in the city of Durham
