Letters and papers relating to the official activities of the county treasurer, especially to the period of office of William Swire (treasurer 1856-1878). They include correspondence with the central government with related papers; copy returns (by the treasurer) to central government 1850-1875; and letters and papers relating to the bankruptcy of the Eston Grange ironworks 1875-1876 (the county being a creditor) [1835-1877]
