Administrative historyThese records were deposited under the authority of Standing Orders of the House of Commons 1792 and later, confirmed by an Act of 1837 (7 William IV and 1 Victoria cap. 83) for public inspection at the time of the parliamentary bill which was needed to authorise the undertaking. By amendment to Standing Orders in 1930 plans were to be deposited with the Clerk of the County Council but they have been kept together in one series.
