DescriptionThis sub-fonds consists of the administrative records of the North Riding Quarter Sessions. It consists of records relating to fisheries, including:

- copy Sessions Orders relating to close days in the Tees, the Ouse and the Esk [1843-1853]

- letters and papers relating to the formation of Salmon Fishery Districts including the Tees Fishery District (under a joint committee with County Durham) and the Derwent Fishery District (under a joint committee of the North, East and West Ridings) with a copy of the Act of 1865 [1865-1866]

- office copies of orders and notices of East and West Riding Quarter Sessions of the appointment of members for the Derwent , Wharfe and Ouse, Nidd and Ure Fishery Districts [1867-1872]

- correspondence and papers relating to the increase in the number of the Conservators of the Yorkshire Fishery District [1874]

- office copies of Orders of West Riding Quarter Sessions relating to the appointment of members (from North, East and West Ridings) of the Conservators of the Yorkshire Fishery District with correspondence [1878-1888]

- statement as to the formation and election of the Tees Salmon Fishery Board [n.d. post 1878]
