DescriptionMotion paper for maintenance for Thomas Bennison

Thomas Bennison of Moorsholme aged 74 years states that he has received parish relief from the township of Moorsholme for 18 months. His son William who lives in the township of Danby has three houses there, occupies and rents two small farms in the same township, and keeps a grocery shop and is a common carrier between Danby and Whitby. A few years ago, he sold a dwelling house and garth at Moorsholme for £200. William Porritt overseer of Moorsholme and Stephen Porritt of Gerrick yeoman support Thomas Bennison's statement
