Title | Letter from Timothy Mortimer, York to Henry Brewster Darley |
Description | Would spurn the idea of being the solicitor for Spaunton enclosure without the directions of H.B.D as lord of the manor. Mr Shepherd wishes to explain the terms of the enclosure. Has told him H.B.D. is averse to it but might be prepared to meet him. From the witnesses against the enclosure there seems no doubt that a partial enclosure would scarcely bear the expenses and however advantageous to a few rich proprietors it would impoverish the lower classes and cannot be of general utility. |
