| Description | Charles Whitell, George Alderson, William Hanby, William Whitell, Richard Whitell, Thomas Whitell, John Brown - the proprietors of Gilmonby East Pasture (150 acres) and also Christopher Wilson.
Recites that the said pasture had been overstinted by carrying 123 gates.
Agreed:
(1) that from the following 18 May the common pasture should be stinted with 61 and a half gates until September 29 yearly and then from September 29 - March 25 the pasture was to be used in common as previously
(2) that the proprietors who had formerly possessed two gates should only put in stint one gate in future
(3) agreement for impounding any overstint as trespassers or as the goods of foreigners
(4) that the said 61 and a half gates should be made up as formerly i.e. oxen, cows, steers or heifers, every head of which of whatever age was to be reckoned as one gate and that no horses, sheep or other animal should be allowed and for the said pasture to be broken on 18 May yearly
(5) all parties to keep in repair their respective shares of walls, hedges, gates and fences according to their respective stint.
(6) no party to be allowed to dig for or carry away any turf, peat, sods, or earth (unless for repairing the fences) on penalty of 1s for every default.
