With certified copy of a memorandum of summary conviction on 3 October 1883 at York of John Oglesby of the city of York bricklayer aged 33 years for stealing a spirit level and trowel value 5s, the property of Alfred Birch on 27 July 1883. Oglesby was sentenced to hard labour in the gaol at York Castle for three calendar months. Copy dated 2 July 1888
