With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions for the East Riding held at Beverley on 2 April 1883 of Wilson Penistone for stealing one bill hook and a pair of leather gloves, the property of David Hodgson (Penistone also having previously been convicted of felony at the Quarter Sessions for Holland in Lincolnshire held at Spalding on 7 April 1881). Penistone was sentenced to hard labour at the prison at Hull for 15 calendar months, and then to be subject to police supervision for a further two years. Certificate dated 29 June 1888 |
