With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 3 July 1877 of William Bendelow for stealing two black geldings and one chestnut yearling colt, the property of Robert Holtby, at the township of Osgodby on 28 May 1877. Bendelow, who had a previous conviction for felony, was sentenced to penal servitude for seven years, and then to police supervision for five years. Certificate dated 2 July 1883
