Mc Bride had previously been convicted of felony at the Petty Sessional court held at Dewsbury in the West Riding on 18 March 1880

With certificate of conviction at the Petty Sessional court held in the borough of Dewsbury on 18 March 1880 of Thomas McBride of Dewsbury labourer for stealing three yards of druggeting value 5s, the property of John Campbell, at the borough of Dewsbury on 13 March 1880. McBride was sentenced to hard labour at the prison at Wakefield in the West Riding for one calendar month. Certificate dated 3 January 1881
