With certificate of conviction at the general session of the Delivery of the Gaol of Kent held at Maidstone on 10 July 1878 of Elizabeth Hemsworth late of the parish of Ightham in Kent for stealing one cash box, three watches, two chains, two lockets, one ring, three brooches, two crosses, one necklace, two bracelets, one hair ornament, two pairs of cuffs, one basket, one gown, one hat, one pair of boots, two parasols, and two pairs of mittens, total value £100, the property of Francis James and taken from his dwelling house. Hemsworth had previously been convicted of another felony. She was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Maidstone for 15 calendar months. Certificate dated 17 December 1879
