With certificate of conviction before two Justices of the Peace at Stranton in county Durham on 3 January 1876 of James Tearney for stealing a quantity of cloth, the property of Robert Looney, at the township of Stranton on 31 December 1875. Tearney was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Durham for three months. Certificate dated 8 June 1876



With certificate of conviction at a Petty Sessions held at Middlesbrough on 6 March 1876 of Patrick McCormack for stealing one pair of boots, the property of Messrs Imeson and Sons, at the parish of Middlesbrough on 4 March 1876. McCormack was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Northallerton for one calendar month. Certificate dated 26 June 1876
