DescriptionBill of indictment of Elizabeth Tinkler for obtaining one box of figs and one bottle of rum from Joseph Hutchinson a servant employed by Edward Archangelo Proudlock a grocer in Middlesbrough by falsely pretending that a letter which purported to be signed by Mrs Ann Bellwood asking for the goods and promising to pay on her return from Leatham Bridge was genuine

Tinkler had previously been convicted of felony at a Petty Sessions held at the borough of Middlesbrough on 1 June 1872

Endorsed with names of witnesses and "true bill"



With certificate of conviction at a Petty Sessions for the borough of Middlesbrough held on 1 June 1872 of Elizabeth Tinkler for stealing £1 1s in money, the property of Joseph Burns. Tinkler was sentenced to hard labour at the House of Correction at Northallerton for one calendar month. Certificate dated 5 April 1875
