Description | Bill of indictment of David Adams for obtaining 5s from John Mawe of Kilburn by falsely pretending that he (Adams) had bought a red cow that had broken its neck from a man "between here and Sessay" for 15s. He claimed that he only had 10s and needed another 5s to pay for it. The 5s could be paid by Mawe to the owner of the cow and George Jermyn was servant to the man from whom Adams had bought the cow and could take the 5s to his master
