Description | Bill of indictment of Elizabeth Tate for obtaining one quarter of a pound of tea, half a pound of coffee, one pound of bacon, and half a pound of biscuits value 3s from Granville Marley apprentice to John Close a grocer in East Street in the borough of Middlesbrough by falsely pretending that Jane Thompson wife of Christopher Thompson, a customer of Close's, had sent her (Tate) to Close's shop for some groceries
Tate also obtained two pounds of sugar, two pounds of peas, two ounces of tea, a pound of cheese, half a pound of currants, half a pound of soap, one loaf of bread, a pound of lard, and half a pound of candles from the said Granville Marley by falsely pretending that Jane Tate wife of Thomas Tate, a customer of Close's, had sent her (Tate) to Close's shop for some groceries
