On 10 May 1864 at the parish of Ormesby, Regan contracted with John Jones of the parish of Ormesby agent for Thomas Light Elwon and William Malcolm of the parish of Ormesby ironmasters to serve them as a labourer from fortnight to fortnight at a wage of 3s 6d per day
