With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions for Lancashire held at Preston on 20 October 1858 of John Jackson late of the township of Coppull in Lancashire labourer for breaking into the dwelling house of John Hargreaves at Coppull on 16 August 1858, and stealing one box of instruments, the property of Joseph Ellis; and five receipt stamps, 23 postage stamps and one piece of soap, the property of the said John Hargreaves. Jackson was sentenced to penal servitude for four years. Certificate dated 16 June 1862
