With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 3 January 1843 of James Barker late of the House of Correction at Northallerton labourer for stealing 70 pounds weight of flour and one saw, the property of William Milner, at the township of Glaisdale; one cotton shirt, the property of John Green; one tame domesticated goose and one horse comb, the property of George Atkinson; one smock frock and one pair of gloves, the property of Robert Atkinson; one smock frock and one whip, the property of Isaac Poad; and one other smock frock and one other whip, the property of person or persons unknown, all at the township of Hartoft. Barker was sentenced to be transported for seven years. Certificate dated 16 October 1854
