With certificate of conviction at the Quarter Sessions held at Northallerton on 16 October 1849 of William Green late of the House of Correction at Northallerton labourer for stealing from a vessel called the "Ceres" on the navigable river Esk in the parish of Whitby seven pairs of worsted stockings, one flannel shirt, one pair of flannel drawers, two shirts, one southwester, one waistcoat, one pair of trousers, one jacket, one canvas bag, and two pieces of a telescope, the property of William Hutchinson; and one pair of fustian trousers, the property of John Golightly. Green was sentenced to three weeks hard labour in the House of Correction at Northallerton. Certificate dated 31 December 1849
