He is the owner of fields called East Stock Mires, Far Pleasure Hill West Field, Near Pleasure Hill West Field, Barley Field, Pleasure Hill East Field, West Stock Mires, Stock Mires and East Stock Mires in the parish of Croft occupied by Robert Tewart and John Hall, through which a footway running from a farm called Dobshole into the highway from the village of Croft to Middleton Tyas is to be diverted
ii) notice dated 20 August 1839 given by Sir John Peniston Milbanke of Halnaby Hall and Great Portland Street in Middlesex baronet of his consent to the diversion of a footway through his land. He is the owner of fields called Back Pasture and Cow Pasture, part of Dobshole Farm in the parish of Croft, through which a footway running from a farm called Dobshole into the highway from the village of Croft to Middleton Tyas is to be diverted
iii) notice dated 7 August 1839 given by Sir William Chaytor of Witton Castle in county Durham baronet to Robert Tewart and Christopher Wright surveyors of the highways for the township of Croft. They are to instruct the churchwardens of the parish of Croft to call a vestry meeting to consider the proposal to divert part of the footway
iv) notice dated 15 August 1839 from Robert Teweart [sic] and Christopher Wright surveyors of the highways in the township of Croft to the churchwardens of the parish of Croft instructing them to call a vestry meeting
v) report dated 20 August 1839 of the vestry meeting of the inhabitants of Croft to consider the proposals for diverting the footway
vi) notice dated 20 August 1839 given by Henry Wood chairman of the vestry meeting to Robert Tewart and Christopher Wright surveyors of the highway for the township of Croft, directing them to apply to two Justices to view the footway
vii) notice dated 16 September 1839 from two Justices that they have viewed part of the footpath from Dobshole Farm House in the township of Croft to Middleton Tyas
viii) notice dated 20 August 1839 from Robert Teweart [sic] and Christopher Wright, surveyors of the highway in the township of Croft, to two Justices asking them to view the footway
ix) printed notice from Robert Tewart and Christopher Wright surveyors of the highway in the township of Croft of their intention to apply at the Quarter Sessions for the diversion and stopping-up of a footway at Croft. Endorsed with memoranda dated 16 September 1839 that the notice had been affixed to the ends of the footway and to the church door
x) manuscript copy of the above notice; with annotation dated 21 August 1839 by the Justices that proper notice should be given by the surveyors of the highway
