Letter dated 23 June 1824 from Thomas Wait at the Clerk of the Peace's Office at Northallerton to William Wright of Thornton le Moor labourer. The recognizance made by Wright and John Sherwood of Winton will be estreated and returned into the Court of Exchequer unless Wright appears on the third day of the next Quarter Sessions on 14 July 1824 to show why he did not appear according to the condition of the recognizance. Endorsed with a note dated 7 July 1824 from William Wright at Thornton le Moor saying that the person to whom the letter is addressed is a labourer but not related to the William Wright who is charged with bastardy, and who is not in this part of the county. He asks for the 2d which he has paid [?for postage] to be returned to him |
