Description | Notice given by George Simpson churchwarden of the township of Newsham and Robert Glover and John Coulter overseers of the poor of the township of Newsham to the churchwardens and overseers of the township of Barningham. The inhabitants of the township of Newsham intend to appeal at the next Quarter Sessions against the removal order dated 21 October 1817 for the removal of Jonas Sayer
With an endorsement, written by Robert Glover at Newsham on 1 January 1818, and sent to Mr Tomlin at Richmond. The endorsement has been deleted: Sir John Colthard's wife will go and her examination will be the same as his. I intend to be at Richmond on Saturday, then we will be able to arrange matters better. You'll see that one of our foolish churchwardens would not sign. His ignorance overruled all persuasions, so I have ?served them as you see in this which I make no doubt will do. One churchwarden has signed. I have lost no time to inform you, so judge for yourself |
