Description | Paper to move at the Midsummer Sessions 1817 to discharge an order in an appeal between the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the township of Stainton (appellants) and the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the township of Grinton (respondents) relating to the removal of Robert Dunn, Mary his wife, and their children Robert aged 14 and a half years, Nanny aged 13 years, and John aged 10 and a half years. All the children were born out of wedlock at Grinton, and their settlement is there. The parents, who married after the order of removal was made, belong to Stainton. The order is to be discharged for the three children, but confirmed for the parents
