TitlePetition relating to Low Cowstand Bridge at Catterick
DescriptionPetition to the Justices from the inhabitants of the township of Catterick. They have lately put Low Cowstand Bridge into complete repair. It was built across Cowstand Beck by Thomas Waite of the township of Catterick stonemason in about 1785 at the expense of the inhabitants of the township of Catterick. The bridge is in the township of Catterick and is on the high road leading from Richmond to Bedale and Ripon, and it has always been freely enjoyed by the public

The petitioners want to be relieved from keeping the bridge in repair at their own expense, and petition that in future it should be repaired out of the general rate of the whole riding
