DescriptionRequest for the payment of the expenses of the constable of Kirby Moorside for apprehending: Leonard Johnson for deserting his family; Elizabeth Forster for returning after removal; and John Howston a petty chapman and a sailor; and for conveying them to Northallerton

With examination of Elizabeth Forster who was lately removed from Kirby Moorside to Aislaby and returned without a certificate showing her settlement elsewhere; and of John Howston who says that he was born in the Orkney Islands and was bound apprentice to Anthony Jefferson of Staithes mariner and served over 3 years during which time he was more than six weeks in harbour in Whitby. He was pressed into His Majesty's service and has no other way of living but by begging or selling trifling goods without a licence
