Description | Presentment of John Jameson of Little Smeaton yeoman for not repairing part of the highway from Great Smeaton to Birkby
From 8 April 1793 the highway has been in disrepair in the township of Little Smeaton from a gate branching from the great turnpike road from Great Smeaton to Northallerton and leading westward over closes called the Greens and Plentiful Greens, being 600 yards in length and 8 feet in breadth
Jameson is responsible for repairs by reason of his occupation of lands adjoining the highway |
