The road from Catterick to the city of Durham crosses the river Tees at Piercebridge Bridge

From 10 March 1795 part of the bridge from the south end to the middle of the centre arch being 115 feet in length and 13 feet 6 inches in breadth in the parish of Manfield and part of the highway from the south end of the bridge southward for 100 yards and being 13 feet 6 inches in breadth in the parish of Manfield has been in disrepair
