- order dated 18 December 1795 for the removal of John Whitworth, his wife Elizabeth and son David from the parish of St Leonard in New Malton to the parish of Scarborough

- notice dated 21 December 1795 from the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the parish of St Mary, Scarborough, to the churchwarden and overseers of the poor of the parish of St Leonard in New Malton, that they intend to appeal against the above removal order

- letter dated 11 January 1796 from Travis and Woodall at Scarborough to Messrs Robinson and Smithson attorneys at Malton that Mr Jefferson's son, who was their principal witness, has recently been rated to the poor of their parish and therefore cannot give evidence for them. They will have to abandon their appeal

- notice dated 12 January 1796 that the churchwardens and overseers of Scarborough have not come forward to prosecute their appeal and should therefore pay the costs of the respondents

- undated bill of costs of Scarborough, the appellants
