TitleNotice of an appeal relating to the highway from Newton to Levisham
DescriptionNotice given to the surviving Commissioners appointed under the Enclosure Act for Pickering and Newton and to William Lyth late of Newton but now of Stockton on the Forest, by ten proprietors of land in the townships of Newton and Levisham. They are aggrieved by two awards dated 28 April 1789 and 24 June 1790, and intend to appeal at the next Quarter Sessions, as the Commissioners did not set out an ancient highway leading from the township of Newton over the commons to the township of Levisham. They allotted land to William Lyth at Newton Banks and Newton Bottoms without reserving the use of the road to the public
