Description | Order made by J. Lister to Robert Drake chief constable of Pickering Lythe. Application has been made by the commanding officer of the Durham Militia quartered at Scarborough asking for beacons to be put up at the usual places near the sea coast around Scarborough. One was formerly on a hill called Beacon Hill on Seamer Moor, but is now in decay. Lister has ordered a beacon to be fixed there and orders Drake to pay George Thompson for his expenses
