| Description | Articles of the peace exhibited by the Revd Richard Robinson of Egton clerk against Thomas Brotton of Egton weaver and Elizabeth his wife
On 12 January 1792 Robinson received a letter from Brotton blaming him for not repairing his house, asking for money, and threatening to ruin him if he did not comply with his wishes. As Robinson's property adjoined Brotton's, Robinson believed that Brotton was threatening to destroy his house. Brotton and his wife have also threatened to lay scandalous accusations before the magistrates, and to enter Robinson's house and injure Robinson, his wife and daughter.
