DescriptionSettlement examination of Ralph Keadlay, a rogue and vagabond. He was born in the county of Witlar [?Wicklow] in Ireland. He lived with and was supported by his mother, who worked for him until he was 40 years old. He lived in Scotland for nearly 30 years. Some gentlemen in Scotland collected money for him. He has been to Hull to see his daughter who is in service there, but stayed only for one night in Hull and was returning to Scotland. He came from Pickering yesterday and was going to the next sea port, when he was apprehended for begging in Snainton
