- William Carradine, indicted for assaulting Thomas Atkinson of Pickering. Ordered at the Quarter Sessions held at Stokesley to be imprisoned in the House of Correction until the next Sessions, unless he can find sureties for his appearance and for trying his traverse
- John Pybus, indicted for a felony. Ordered at the Quarter Sessions held by adjournment at Thirsk to be imprisoned in the House of Correction at Thirsk until the next Sessions
- Catherine Webdale, Mary her daughter and Thomas her son, vagrants found begging in the township of Kirby Moorside without having a legal settlement there, and committed on 19 July 1788
- Thomas Gibson, committed on 28 July 1788 for refusing to find sureties for his appearance at the next Quarter Sessions, and for keeping the peace in the meantime especially towards Henry Atley of Whitby
- James Lamb, apprehended in the township of Appleton Wiske and convicted as a vagrant. Committed on 11 August 1788
- Susanna Stephens, a vagrant found begging in the township of Whitby without having a legal settlement there. On 31 May 1788 she gave birth to a daughter at Whitby, and has become chargeable to the township of Whitby. Committed on 14 August 1788
- Peter Kennedy, a vagrant found lodging in outhouses in the township of Whitby, without giving a good account of himself. Committed on 20 August 1788
- Michael Leadham, a vagrant found begging in the township of Whitby, without giving a good account of himself. Committed on 20 August 1788
- Mary wife of Simon Leadham, a vagrant pretending to be deaf and dumb, and telling fortunes in the township of Whitby. Committed on 20 August 1788
- Mary Wrigglesworth, committed on 22 August 1788 for refusing to find sureties for her appearance at the next Quarter Sessions to answer a bill of indictment brought against her by Margaret Raper of Northallerton for an assault
- William Taylor, Elizabeth his wife, and their children Ann and William, vagrants, found begging in the township of Whitby and using subtle craft to deceive and impose on people. William Taylor refused to give a good account of himself. Committed on 3 September 1788
- Robert Dawson, committed on 14 September 1788 charged with stealing part of a sheaf of oats value 2d, the property of William Smith of South Otterington
- Mary wife of Thomas Marley late of Great Ayton, committed on 19 September 1788 charged on suspicion of felony in stealing two yards of linen cloth from the house of Ann Taylorson of the township of Great Ayton widow
- William Batty, committed on 26 September 1788, charged on the oath of Isabella Fewster of Whitby who is afraid that Batty will beat or kill her
- Hannah Hobb, committed on 27 September 1788 and charged with stealing a pair of women's shoes from the house of Thomas Fairfoot
- John Bains, committed on 31 May 1788 charged on the oath of Mary Whitehawk of the township of Aldwark with having made her pregnant, and for want of sureties for his appearance
- Allan Gray, committed on 16 September 1788 charged on the oath of Enoch Craike of Wath with having left his apprenticeship on 10 May 1785 until the present time. To be imprisoned in the House of Correction at Thirsk for three months

- William Fewler, committed on 2 October 1788 charged on suspicion of felony in stealing two panniers of herrings value 11s, the property of Margaret Ripley of Redcar
