TitleRemoval order and settlement examination: John Robinson
DescriptionOrder for the removal of John Robinson from the township of Terrington to the township of Wetherby

Settlement examination of John Robinson of Terrington. For many years he farmed a house and garth in Terrington at 8s 6d per year, and paid church and poor assessments in his own right, whereby he thought he had gained a settlement there. A paper had been produced to show that when he took the house and garth, the rent was 11s 6d, and the 3s extra was for the assessments. He said that he had farmed a house at 40s a year in Terrington before he farmed the house and garth, when he paid 5s 6d for the church sess in his own right, but he cannot prove this. Before he came to Terrington about 20 years ago, his settlement was at Wetherby in the West Riding where he was born and where his father had a settlement. He has done nothing to gain a settlement elsewhere other than the above, and taking some gates for cattle and the sweep of some hay
