Administrative history | The pre-Reformation chapel at Aislably had been standing since 1150 until it was destroyed, presumably at the time of the Civil War. It was rebuilt in 1732 and was used until the present church, dedicated to St Margaret, was built in 1897. Prior to the church being built in 1897, there was no village churchyard so Lythe churchyard was used for burials.
