Summary of case: [Includes case papers for NRCC/CL 9/1/4948]Tom Bell Jackson is entirely responsible for the manufacture of all bricks and tiles and other partner who is 53 years of age, dealing exclusively with the biding and building repair work of the business….We have on hand at present time large contracts for bricks for blast furnaces and ship-building yards….we have also provided light railways on the works whereby women labour is now utilised….have been requested by the Food Production department to turn out as many agricultural drain pipes as possible and in respect of such work have been offered a batch of German prisoners of war. The whole of these contracts are under the direct supervision and management of Tom Bell Jackson who is the only man on the works who has the requisite knowledge, the other partner having merely superficial knowledge of the work required.’ [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/3937]
