Summary of case: [Includes case papers for NRCC/CL 9/1/5734] In this appeal Major General J K Trotter states: ‘This man should join the Volunteer Training Corps. He is private gardener to a gentleman, and is doing no public work. There is a drill centre, as well as a range, actually in Glaisdale. Most volunteers have much harder work to do than he has. The battalion, situated at a most important part of the coast, is much under strength.’
