The tribunal did not give hi special exemption from Volunteer Service, and he has been called up for volunteer service by county headquarters. He cannot do both jobs – ie carry on his duties as Lieutenant in the Whitby Cadet Corps and put in his drills as a private in the Volunteers. As Mr Blewett is doing military work of an important nature with the cadets, will it not be possible for the tribunal to give him special exemption from volunteer service is accordance with the terms of para. 2 of Army Council Instruction 913 of 1918?’ [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/4080]
