Gledhill has been employed by Nance & Ream for 24 years, his knowledge of the business makes him essential to carry it on successfully. He is of delicate health and passed C2 fit. The North Riding Appeal Tribunal granted exemption to 31 march 1918 and Ream is applying for a further exemption for his employee. They state that Gledhill is a clerk rather than a manager and that the employer had made little effort to find a replacement. [See also NRCC/CL 9/1/4243]
