C A Herbert, the military representative, York appealed for a review of certificate of exemption. Local tribunal withdrew the certificate on 8 Mar 1917. North Riding Appeal Tribunal were dissatisfied with Whites replies to questions on 22 Mar 1917 and upheld withdrawal of the certificate. Adjourned the case for one month to ascertain nature of work applied for in Melton Mowbray. Appeal reheard and dismissed on 4 Jun 1917.
