Summary of case: Arthur was the second of two sons and the last young man working for his father. His brother had been serving with 4th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment for the previous 13 months, as had four of his other men. A further two men were in training with the same regiment. Frederick had a weak heart and his doctor had forbidden him to lift weights to height.
