Summary of Case: Originally appealed in Jan 1916 for reserved occupation but the local tribunal said he is already starred. The military representative questioned this and the local tribunal then cancelled his exemption, as they stated “This seems to be another appeal which is only made to gain time.” George Barnett then appeals to the North Riding Appeal Tribunal on the grounds that his son looks after stock and works the land and there is no-one to take his place.
