Summary of case: “The reason I am applying for A Cripps (my son) to be put into a later Groups is because my business being Ladies and Gentleman’s outfitters he does all the measuring for the business as I am no scholar he as[sic] all the clerking to do also as my business coves a large area it is necessary for me to have him to drive the car. It is impossible for me to get a substitute to take his place.” The local tribunal decided that the man was not indispensable. Elizabeth Oke then appealed for an extension of “about two months” so that she can arrange for someone to help run the business of draper and general outfitter. She also needs the time to decide which part of the business she will have to dispose of.
